This ever lovin’ week!

Another Friday? So soon?  I had this week pretty much off work so I’m kind of sad that Friday is here then again….

I’m beach bound today so maybe not!

My mom and her husband bought a condo at North Myrtle Beach and I’m on my way down to spend the weekend cleaning and prepping it for renters!  The kids and husband are staying home for this adventure because nothing in life is harder than deep cleaning a property with men and children in tow.  Can I get an amen?

If you think that I’m going to be doing a little cleaning and then doing a lot of laying out on the beach…think again.  I looked at the forecast and it was all rain.

But you know…a rainy day at the beach is better than a day at home!

VBS season is wrapping up.

As you know I thoroughly enjoy Vacation Bible School season.  I loved helping out again with our own.  It wrapped last week and since then the kids have been to two more.  They will wrap up next week mid-week at the church I grew up in.  After VBS season the kids are kind of “lost” they look forward to seeing their friends each evening and being totally entertained and intrigued.  I better start upping my summer game, huh?

Kindergarten Camp wrapped up.

The last three weeks my son has totally enjoyed being apart of Kindergarten Camp!  He’s super ready for “big school” and also excited to not have to get up early again.  Thanks to the teachers and staff who made this event so super great for the kids in our community!

I bought that Rachel Hollis cookbook.

Where I live people are just now catching on to the social media maven.  I’m kinda like – that was so five minutes ago (LOL that makes me laugh because I’m normally ten minutes ago in catching up!)  Anyway, I bought her latest cookbook and I have tried several of the recipes this week.  If you bought it or are awaiting it to arrive at your door I currently recommend:

Grilled Corn Tostadas (I did grill the corn but next time I doubt I do.)

Meatloaf Meat Balls (Extra delicious!)

I do not recommend the biscuit pizzas.  The kids made them and I was so grossed out.

I also do not recommend the teriyaki chicken kabobs.  And that is because I freaking hate teriyaki.

I just got a major mom win this week.

My daughter wants a Live PD theme birthday party this year.  OK no big deal I know it’s her favorite show and she has this major interest in law enforcement.  I just happened to tweet it out that she wanted a LIVE PD birthday and I went ahead and tagged her favorite officers.  Well guys, I’m keeping a big fat secret!  She’s getting a little birthday surprise from the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia.  (Master Deputy Mike Baker is her favorite out of GA and Addy Perez is her favorite out of SC. GCSO responded to the tweet by asking me to DM them.  I didn’t hear anything from Addy or Richland County Sheriff’s office.)

I cannot wait for her package to come and I hope I can keep it quiet until her birthday! (September 4th.)

  2. Dang, sorry that the weather will be crappy all weekend but it will still be nice to just get away from mom duties for the weekend. Also that is so cool that you were able to get some cool birthday surprises from your daughter’s favorite show. Have a great weekend.

    1. A bad day at the beach is better than a good day at the office, right? LOL Yes I’m excited to check out but first I have to get this house tidied up and PACKED oh my….xo

  3. I am so intrigued by this ‘Live PD party’ idea – I have never heard of that before but it sounds fascinating – you must write about this after the event – too cool that your daughter wants this though, and the police are able to do this for her! Have a great time at Myrtle Beach! Joanne x
