Week number 51 of 2016 wraps up tomorrow.  How has the year been for you?  I really, truly hope it has been wonderful but I know not everyone has had an incredible or even mediocre year.  That’s why I’m hoping these last bits of this year are just full of glorious, fabulous, spontaneous joy.

This week around here…

Work, work, work

My husband was supposed to be off today but he went to work.  No comment.  OK wrong – comment – I just try to focus on how the Christmas debt will be eliminated instead of him never being here.

On my end….more clients and more cleanings!  There is something so wonderful about my job at this time of year.  Cleaning is often joyful – and I know that sounds super psychotic!  But I turn on the Christmas music on my phone and dance around and sing as I scrub, vacuum, and wipe away the grime.  This year has been a huge blessing with my business.  I’m appreciative to all the clients on my weekly agenda and their sweet words!  It has been a joy to serve them this year.  I am not sure what next year will hold at the current time but whatever it is you better believe this cleaning freak will live on!

My husband and I both come from divorced families.  This past weekend my husband’s mom came up to Christmas with us as well as her siblings.  We enjoyed lunch and unwrapping gifts and laughing together.

On Monday we had another visitor.  A young, male Blue Tick Coon Hound.  He decided to visit us and “tree” our chickens.  I grew up with these dogs as my dad was an avid racoon hunter for years.  I do not miss those dogs one bit.  All they do is bark, bark, bark.  This was a reminder of my childhood as the dog bellowed out for well over an hour.  I ended up calling Animal Control and luckily they knew the pup and his owners and could take him home instead of to the shelter.

Of course my daughter thought we should keep him.  Um no.

Red The Elf

Our elf is always more active the last week he is with us than any other time.  This week he wrapped up the kid’s bedroom doors, “hung out” on the ceiling of the playroom, and did some other silly things.

I will miss that stupid elf next week.  The kids get so excited about finding him each morning.

Kids & Cookies

This event turned out pretty smashing.  We were three short from the RSVP’s and ended up just having two guests (cutest twins ever) and extending our day an extra two hours for play, dancing, baking, and being silly.  I liked this so much better than the regular party we normally throw that I have decided – NEW PLAN for 2017!

By the way my diet has consisted of strictly cookies and I’m not feeling so good….

Christmas Notes…

And now is the time I say – Merry Christmas & Happy Hanukkah — a fabulous Kwanzaa and a bundled up Boxing Day.  May your weekend (or eight nights) be filled with smiles, belly laughs, and the warmth that only this season can bring you.  It has been a joy spending the past two months with you all.  I am thankful for your visits, comments, emails, texts, Snaps, IG, and FB love to Cardio, Cabernet, & A Keyboard.  Every day you give me a little Christmas and I hope to reciprocate in 2017.  I appreciate you all.  I wish you a happiest of holidays and peace and joy!

Sometime next week I hope to return but if not you can find me drinking copious amounts of festive coffee or drink and sneaking off to find some silence from the house of loud kiddos.

May Santa be good to you!

I appreciate how much he does for our family, but you are right, it is so hard that they have to work all the time. I feel ya. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

      1. So true! I get over not having my hubby home in July, August, and September when farming really takes off and he works his day job and then farms after. The days are LONG then. I feel ya!

  3. Keith works in sales so December is super crazy and he works later than usual and it does make things a little stressful. Glad you had a low key cookie party….definitely think that was probably a win all the way around. Sometimes less is more! 🙂
